iPhone 5 release date rumors & news -
Tuesday, May 22, 2012
The iPhone loving Apple community had a slight scare earlier this week when information leaked hinting the iPhone 5 release date may be delayed due to a Qualcomm 28nm chip shortage. According to Qualcomm, the S4 Snapdragon 28nm processor, believed to be for the new iPhone, had become too popular for the company to meet manufacturing deadlines in time for the Apple iOS 6 smartphone debut.
Piper Jaffray's analyst, Gene Munster says there isn't much to worry about, as Apple is known for finding solutions to supply and demand issues. Munster says the iPhone maker will still be able to deliver a "completely redesigned body style," in spite of the reported manufacturing delays.
The new iPhone 5 is expected to make an appearance once last years model hits the one year mark. If Munster's claims are correct, that pinpoints the iPhone 5 release date for sometime in October of 2012.
